Herbert Ellis
(c.1877- c.1910)

An artist and modeller in stoneware and terracotta with Doulton & Co., of Lambeth.

He was one of a number of sculptors who worked on the Doulton Fountain for the 1888 Internation Exhibition at Kelvingrove Park, for which he produced the group representing South Africa (removed to Glasgow Green, 1890, restored 2005).

In 1889 he won a Society of Arts prize for a modelled ewer in silicon with a Bachanalian subject in their Art Workmanship competition.
